# Add, edit, and remove book rules

> Keep accepted narration pairs accurate as you work through a book.

Open the project’s **QA** workspace and choose **Book equivalence rules**.

## Find a rule

Use **Search rules…** to search either the narration-heard text or manuscript text. Check both columns before changing a pair.

## Add a rule

1. Choose **Add rule**.
2. Enter the transcription’s wording under **Narration heard**.
3. Enter the manuscript wording under **Manuscript**.
4. Choose **Add rule** to save.

Both values must be present and different. If Margent says the pair already exists, review the saved rule instead.

Directly adding a rule affects future proofing. To clear current matching findings as well, use [Remember this match for this book from a finding](/equivalences/use-rules).

## Edit or remove a rule

Open the row’s actions menu. Choose **Edit**, update the pair, and **Save**, or choose **Remove** to delete the rule.

These changes affect future results. Already completed findings stay completed, and confirmed pickups are preserved. Removing a rule does not automatically re-run proofing or restore previously resolved findings to the queue.
