# Work through and complete pickups

> Record the correction, check it, and clear the work item.

1. Open the chapter in **QA** and choose the **Pickups** filter.
2. Select a pickup and read the passage and any note.
3. Listen to its source excerpt if available. Check for **From previous recording** before using the timecode.
4. Use **Go to line in Studio** when you need more manuscript context.
5. Record and edit the correction in your usual recording software, then listen to the result.
6. Return to the pickup in QA and choose **Mark complete**.

The item moves out of active work into **Completed**. The queue advances so you can keep working through the chapter.

## Reopen a pickup

Expand **Completed**, select the pickup, and choose **Reopen**. It returns to the active work queue.

## Check the revised chapter

Marking a pickup complete records that you finished the task; it does not upload or re-proof your edited audio. To check the new chapter file, [replace the chapter recording](/recordings/replace).

Manual and confirmed pickups keep their completion state when you replace a recording. If the new proofing run finds another difference in the same passage, listen and make a new decision.
