# Create a pickup from a finding

> Turn a confirmed narration issue into work you can return to.

1. Open the chapter in **QA** and select a finding.
2. Listen with **Play excerpt** and check the manuscript context.
3. If the narration needs work, choose **Create pickup**.
4. Continue reviewing findings, or switch to **Pickups** to work through the corrections.

The finding becomes a pickup in the same queue. Its manuscript context and available source audio details stay connected to the work.

Creating a pickup records your decision to make a correction. It does not record a new take or edit the audio file.

## If Create pickup is unavailable

The manuscript may have changed since proofing, or the finding may no longer belong to the current recording. Refresh the queue and check the current source. [Proof the current manuscript](/troubleshooting/manuscript-changed) before creating pickups from stale findings.

Some findings do not have enough manuscript text to anchor a pickup. You can [mark the correct passage manually in Studio](/studio/manual-pickups).
