# Upload a chapter recording

> Add your audio and start proofing against the selected manuscript chapter.

Before uploading, check that the manuscript section contains the text you recorded. Use a chapter file that corresponds to the selected section.

1. Open the project’s **QA** workspace.
2. Select the chapter and choose **Add recording**.
3. Choose your narration audio file.
4. Check the upload limits shown in the form, then choose **Upload and proof**.
5. Keep the page open until the upload finishes.
6. Wait for proofing to complete, then [review the chapter queue](/qa/chapter-workflow).

After the upload is saved, processing continues in the background. You can close the page and return later.

## Supported files and limits

The audio picker accepts **MP3, M4A, MP4, WAV, WebM, OGG, and FLAC**. Use a file with readable narration audio.

Check the limits shown in the upload form before choosing a file. File size, manuscript length, and audio duration limits can vary by upload method.

## Pause or resume an upload

Choose **Pause upload** when needed. To resume an interrupted upload, select the same file and choose **Resume upload**. Previously uploaded parts are reused where available.

If the chapter already has a recording, use [Replace recording](/recordings/replace). For a stalled or failed upload, see [Recording not processing](/troubleshooting/recording-not-processing).
