# Resolve repeated false positives

> Stop reviewing the same accepted spelling or name pair over and over.

Start by listening to the recording. A repeated name difference may be a transcription issue, but repetition alone does not establish that the narration is correct.

## Clear the work already waiting

If the pair is acceptable for the current findings, open **No change needed** and choose **All exact matches in this chapter** or **All exact matches in this book**.

This resolves existing matching findings. It does not save a rule for later runs or change confirmed pickups.

## Accept the pair in future proofing

If you want the same pair accepted throughout this project’s future proofing, choose **Remember this match for this book**. Review the pair and affected count, then confirm.

## If a saved rule does not match

Check both columns in **Book equivalence rules**:

* Are narration and manuscript in the correct direction?
* Does either side have different wording, punctuation, or accents?
* Is the finding a longer or different phrase?
* Was the finding already waiting before you added a rule directly in the rules manager?

Book rules cover specific accepted pairs. Use [How book rules apply](/equivalences/how-matching-works) to check the pair, then [edit the rule](/equivalences/manage-rules) or review the remaining finding individually.
