Margent keeps your manuscript, chapter review, and pickups together so you can spend more time narrating. You may also see the application referred to as VO Studio.

Start with one chapter

1

Set up your book

Create a project, add your manuscript, and check its reading sections.
2

Read and record

Use Studio for your manuscript and pickup notes. Record your audio in your usual recording software.
3

Review your narration

Upload a chapter recording in QA. Once proofing finishes, listen to the flagged passages and decide whether each needs a change.
4

Work through pickups

Create pickups for the passages you want to fix. Record and edit the corrections in your recording software, then mark the pickups complete.
5

Prepare the handoff

If you want the edited chapter checked, replace its recording. Review the new results and prepare delivery.

Three terms you will use often

  • Finding: a possible difference identified during proofing, awaiting your decision.
  • Pickup: a passage you have decided needs work, created from a finding or marked manually.
  • Current recording: the uploaded chapter audio used for the current proofing results.
A completed review queue means you have dealt with its work items. It does not certify the audio or send files to your client.
